Shelly KT Marshall-BSMS
Shelly is the talent behind ShellART, in fact she puts the “Shell” and “ART” in ShellART. Shelly grew up on the Florida panhandle loving the ocean, marine life, and everything “fishy”. Shelly also grew up loving math and science, so it was a no brainer when she had to choose what to study at the University of Tampa; Marine Biology was an easy winner.
Shelly not only enjoys the science of the seas but also the beauty in creation. ShellART was born just after she graduated college and she needed an outlet for her love of marine life and art. Shelly’s education has allowed her to work in various conservation capacities in the last 10 years, but it is her art that has allowed her to share the beauty found in the oceans as well as educate the public regarding the pressing conservation needs impacting marine life. We are happy you have found ShellART and we hope you enjoy yourself while visiting.
Ranger-Studio Cat
I know what you’re thinking, Ranger looks like a dog. But let me assure you, friend, he is a cat. He is aloof to you and never really wants to play. Additionally he is jumpy, really jumpy. Ranger’s greatest contribution to team ShellArt is his tolerance of our existence, unless we have a treat though, then he loves us. In all seriousness Ranger is a dog, and a good dog. He is just old and doesn’t have time for our shenanigans.
Dave Marshall-MBA
Dave is the manual labor behind ShellART, as apposed to the womanual labor, which is Shelly. Dave brings absolutely no artistic talent to the ShellART team. But what Dave does not have in artistic ability he makes up for in his coffee-making and joke-telling ability. It is a misconception that all artists are depressed, Shelly’s energy and creativity are fueled by joy and humor, hence the absolutely crucial role that Dave fills of providing caffeine and jokes.
Dave also has but a modicum of business knowledge and experience as well which he occasionally offers to Shelly. When he isn’t busy making coffee he is helping build spread-sheets, developing marketing plans, and managing the financial side of the business. Lastly, when perusing this website, if you come across any oxford commas, those are Dave’s doing and he is proud of them, he’s kind of a snob that way but we humor him.
Arctos (Arky for Short)-K9
Arky is the brains behind the operation, any good idea was probably his. He may not have thumbs or be overly articulate, but he brings those intangibles that every team needs. Not to mention Arky is our go to model for new product launches. Most importantly, however, Arky is our head of security. He is indefatigable in his efforts to defend the perimeter from birds, squirrels, the neighbors, and occasional bear. We owe him a debt of gratitude which we will never be able to repay. I cannot imagine what state the ShellART studio would be in if squirrels were allowed to just roam across our deck unchecked or if our neighbors were allowed to use their own driveway unaccosted. He’s a true hero.
